The National Survey of Gambling Attitudes and Gambling Experiences 1.0 offers detailed reports for each U.S. state in addition to the National Detailed Report and overview reports for both national and state trends.

There is no comparable information available in the U.S.

Gambling expansion is exploding across America, in large part due to the 2018 U.S. Supreme Court ruling allowing states to legalize sports betting. Previously allowed only in five states, it is now operational in 20 states and Washington D.C., legalized but not operational in five other states, and seventeen more are considering it so far this year (as of March 2021).

Sports betting and online/mobile gambling in particular have grown exponentially during the pandemic of 2020-2021 due to the need for social distancing.

There are important differences from state to state, as well as similarities.Data and analysis of this caliber is critically important to have when your profession interacts with any aspect of gambling in your state.  You will learn about trends in how people have participated (or not) in gambling in your state, and about their attitudes toward gambling and the people who gamble. Segment analysis offers insight nationally into how different groups participate in and think about gambling and problem gambling or gambling addiction.
